Ride Forever - Gold

The Ride Forever Gold course is designed for experienced riders, and includes a flexible programme of content modules for higher skill levels. It includes more technical aspects of riding, and allows for a more focussed approach to training by enabling a club/rider to build their own course content, where specific riding styles can be incorporated.

Description

The Gold course is for experienced riders on a full motorcycle license, who are likely to be riding mid - larger capacity machines. It is not designed for machines 250cc or smaller.

Courses are run in small groups, up to 6 trainees to 1 instructor.

Across the training day, this allows for individual tuition and feedback to help each rider improve.

Courses are mostly riding – you may cover a distance of around 100km during the day, depending on the level of course.

The first part of the day includes introductions and some discussion, so as soon as you start riding you have some additional knowledge and skills to put into practise.

Topics Include:

  • Pre-ride checks for your bike
  • Safety gear
  • Riding in a group/longer rides/touring
  • Riding with a pillion/loads
  • Setting up your motorcycle for performance and comfort
  • Observation techniques
  • Interaction with other road users
  • Motorcycle control – slow manoeuvring, emergency braking, counter-steering
  • Roadcraft principles
  • Road positioning
  • Cornering
